SuitePeople U.S. Payroll standard process includes Create Payroll Batch, View/Edit Payroll Batch, Calculate Payroll Batch, Selecting Payment Options, View/Edit Individual Paychecks, and Committing Payroll Batch. If a mistake is made but not discovered until after the payroll is committed, a Payroll Adjustment or a Payroll Reversal can be created. Payroll liability is the amount owed to the government and other agencies for taxes, deductions, and company contributions accrued from issuing paychecks. Payroll liability payments are made to vendors set up with Tax Agency category. If service-printed paychecks and direct deposit vouchers are not used, then paychecks and direct deposit vouchers can be printed. If Project Management feature is used, after the payroll run is complete, Allocating Paycheck Expenses to Projects allows for the allocation of payroll expenses, associated with time entered referencing a project associated with a customer, to specific projects through the creation of journal entries. Only actual time/hours worked is used for this payroll expense allocation to projects. Employer and employee quarter-end and year-end payroll tasks can be completed using checklists provided by NetSuite.

NetSuite HCM International (Non-U.S.) Payroll provides Paycheck Journal transaction for use in international (non-U.S.) payroll. Paycheck journal transaction enables tracking of payroll data for employees in countries other than United States by creating a journal entry to record the accounting impact of payroll transactions. The journal entry of type Paycheck Journal references payroll items for deductions, earnings (addition, commission, expense, salary, sick, vacation, wage), employer contributions, employer expenses, employee taxes, and employer taxes on the lines. Payroll items for employee taxes and employer taxes are available for only non-U.S. subsidiaries. Paycheck journal transaction does not record a liability payment transaction or issue a check.
